Okay let me start by saying I am a Packer fan to the end…but here was the controversial call from that game. What do you think?
“As Green Bay’s coverage team converged on Hester as he looked skyward, Bears wide receiver Johnny Knox was actually catching the ball on the far sideline. All alone, Knox sprinted up the fringe of Soldier Field. By the time that the Pack realized that the ball hadn’t been kicked to Hester, Knox was long gone. He would score on the play, seemingly putting the Bears in position to attempt an onside kick to prolong their comeback bid.
But an official had thrown a flag during the return and it was called back. It was announced that the penalty was holding, which isn’t a strange call on most long kick returns. The only problem here was that this nothing like most long kick returns. Knox had been all alone from the start with no defenders even running in his direction until it was far too late. To make matters worse for the officials, the replays revealed no clear infractions on any Bears players, including No. 21 who seemed to have been named by the refs as the offending player. In the FOX broadcast booth, neither Joe Buck or Troy Aikman could figure out why the hold was called, especially on No. 21.”
First off, nice call by Da Bears! They got everyone looking the other way…and second Packers what the heck were you thinking? Come on containment please…containment! But nevertheless we are 3-0 and looking good doing it!

Second, in the last blog I gave you my Sunday football picks…I did not so bad this week. I mean who would’ve guessed the Lions and Buffalo would be 3-0? Not me! The Pats looking bad and oh boy, how much do the Colts miss Payton Manning? The Good picks:
- Carolina over Jacksonville
- New Orleans beat the Houston
- Cleveland slides by Miami
- Tennessee over Denver
- San Francisco beats up on Cincinnati (I even noted that it was crazy I was rooting for the 49ers)
- Baltimore destroys St. Louis
- Green Bay goes 3-0 against Chicago
- KAH KAH KAH Hawks beat Arizona (First game at home…good luck for the Hawks)
- Tampa Bay over Atlanta
- Pittsburgh beats the straggling Colts in Sunday Night Football
Now the bad picks:
- Buffalo upsets New England (DAMN!!)
- Giants beat Philadelphia (anyone else have as much dislike for Manning as I do?)
- Detroit over Minnesota (HUH?!?!)
- Oakland over NY Jets (the Raaaaaaay—daaahhhs)
- Chargers over KC
So without the Monday Night game tonight I’m 10-6 (not bad)…we’ll see what happens tonight. Hey I have a better record that the failing Colts!
*Tomorrow I’ll update this blog and give you the final tally*
